The Neuroscience of Craving: Why Willpower Alone Isn't Enough
6 July 2026Mukunda Wellness Editorial
Craving is not a moral failure. Understanding the brain circuitry of addiction is the first step towards sustainable recovery.
Craving is not weakness. It is a neurobiological signal — the brain's reward system, shaped by repeated use, learning to expect a substance or behaviour as a solution to distress.
Effective recovery interrupts the loop between cue, craving and consumption. We use evidence-based tools — cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based relapse prevention, and biochemical support — to rebuild regulation from the inside out.
